We are in the business of helping people gain financial independence through property investment. DPN offers our customers a complimentary strategy, known as a Property Investment Plan. How did you start DPN? Over 16 years ago, with the other Directors sam Khalil and sean Blattman, we combined our Real estate, Financial Planning and Finance Broking experience to start DPN. We had seen too many people trying to invest in property, often ill-informed and overwhelmed and not getting the results they expected.
What made you choose Cronulla as a location for your business? The Directors and I all grew up in the Shire so we wanted a Shire location. Cronulla was the obvious choice – an iconic location, serviced by a train station, and the most desirable location within the local area.
How many staff do you have? Our head office at Cronulla has over 20 staff and is growing. We also have offices in Melbourne, Brisbane and Singapore. We have an open door policy, so please come up to say hello to the team.
What do you like to do when you’re not working on the business? I’m a family man with 3 kids, so on the weekend I love to get involved with the kids sport and spend time with family. I’m also a keen surfer and enjoy a good game of basketball.
What is one of the biggest challenges your business faces? We refuse to sell our clients poor performing or inferior properties. Instead we focus on areas of strong growth. Our biggest challenge is to find adequate stock for ourclients, especially given Sydney’s current land shortage. We work directly with land suppliers to source land before it goes to market.
What tip would you give Cronulla businesses looking to improve? Run your business to world-class standards – invest in your infrastructure, your staff and your clients. We would love to see more businesses invest in their business to lift the appeal of Cronulla, rivaling other beachside areas such as Bondi and Manly as a must-see destination.
