Why are awards important?

Award-winning is important but when it's for the right type of award. Take industry awards into account when you want a service provider with superhero qualities.

DPN is on the way to being an industry superhero

These days you can win all kinds of awards. Some mean more than others.

For instance: did you know there is a Stella Award for the most ridiculous lawsuit? It began in 1992 when an 81-year-old woman spilt hot coffee on herself and successfully sued McDonalds for $2.9 million in damages. A recent winner of the award was a judge who sued a dry cleaner after they lost his favourite pair of pants. He demanded $65 million in damages – they must have been pretty special pants.

Then there’s the Darwin awards for the most stupid accidental death. Or there’s the infamous Golden Raspberries – for worst acting.  Or Australia’s Ernie Awards for the most sexist person that year.

It’s a good guess that none of the recipients would be boasting about winning the award on their CV.

Yet industry awards remain a really strong indication of where a business stands. They are often peer voted and rigorously selected and judged very competitively. Ultimately they are an accolade for high quality work, innovation and brilliant results.

Winning an industry award means more than other kinds of awards as there is a strong methodology behind the process – it’s an award of merit based on specialist knowledge not just getting thousands of clicks on Facebook.

So that’s why DPN feels especially excited to have won two very prestigious awards in 2015. The first is that we’ve been named as one of the top 100 Australian brokers for Mortgage Professional Australia Magazine. To put this in layman’s terms it’s the industry equivalent of being nominated for an Oscar if you’re an actor, or a Grammy if you’re a musician, or a Golden Spanner if you’re a plumber.

The second award is to be recognised as one of the Advertiser’s Elite Business Writers for 2015. We’ve been ranked number 18 in the country. This is a huge achievement that recognises the quantity and quality of successful business that DPN has written this year. Essentially it’s a yardstick of the growing status and achievements of the company for this year.

So why are all these awards important?

They are recognition that DPN is part of an elite group in Australia. A company that offers high level customer service; innovative and successful strategies and consistent accomplishments.

It means that you can be assured, that as a customer, you are in very safe hands and that our success it firmly tied to our customers’ success. Please come and see us today to discover how we can help to make your financial future secure.
