Hunter is a growing, self-contained region

The Hunter has seen consistent population growth over the last few decades and is projected to increase 1.3% per annum, which is a 27% increase from 786,000 to 1,000,000 by 2042. This would require 6,250 dwellings to be built in the region every year over the next two decades to meet demand.

Superb national parks and wildlife reserves abound, including the Barrington Tops National Park and Myall Lakes National Park. The Hunter’s waterways include the numerous pristine beaches along its coastline, Lake Macquarie, the Hunter River and the beautiful bays of Port Stephens.
